It had been a long time since he had seen Lucia now, and it was about time he went to see her again, now that he was the same as her, they could share some thoughts on it. He remembered the incident with her and Lucile back home that time when Lucia bit her, and it got him thinking, hoping that John had kept her from feeding on people. Because she was going to be the innocent one in the family, knowing him he probably fed her the standard soups. Seeing as Nicholas already had blood on his hands, he could provide for her if needed, hunt the pray and save it for Lucia. This way she could keep her hands clean and grow up without having to worry about it.
But that was not the reason for his visit, he needed something good in his life so Lucia was high on the list, hopefully John would allow him to steal her for the night. Which brought him to the next problem, John did not know about his transformation, at least not to his knowledge, and this would not be the time for that. That was a conversation for the next visit, this one was just about Lucia, see how she was doing and if she needed anything.

After leaving home right as the sun disappeared he took his time getting there, savoring the sights and smells on his way to Johns place. He had gotten a lot better at controlling his senses, it was really a huge difference, more so than he had thought before. But it also scared him, it felt like he was accepting what he was, and that's not something he wanted to happen. There was not many people outside, which was a good thing, less people to take notice of him and less people to temp him into doing something he didn't want to. He sees Johns residence and walks up to it, looking around to see if the entire house had gone to bed, he knew Lucia didn't sleep, but the rest might, so it would be slightly rude knocking on the door at this hour. He takes a chance and knocks, but not too loud. Expecting the help to open up and scold him again for showing up so late. Before anyone opens up ha drags his sleeve up just to check that the bracelet was still there, it had been with him for so long now, and seeing as he got through everything that had happened there might be some magic to it after all.
Whoever opened up would get the question of where Lucia was, and as soon as he saw her, he would greet her with open arms. He even had a present with him this time, despite everything that has happened, he still remembered his promise to her, even if it didn't seem that important, it was to him.

[For at se dette link skal du være tilmeldt og logget ind.] but not the hat

The same housekeeper that opened the first time he knocked, was also the one to open this time. She simply stared at him for a short while before opening the door. “She’s in her room. But be quiet. Not everyone in this household is like us.” She simply remarked, as she was quick to notice the change that had occurred. Mostly because his blood didn’t smell as appetizing as it had the first time she met him. She wasn’t going to make any further remarks, seeing that she didn’t feel the need to. It wasn’t in her place to do so anyway. After closing the door, she turned around and started walking as she expected him to follow. “Mr. Crane is out of town for the time being. He did not speak of where nor how long he will be gone.” She then said before opening a door – the door to Lucia’s room.
Lucia was sitting in her room, at her mirror, carefully brushing out her long hair. She had a concentrated expression on her face as she was focusing on getting the difficult knots out. When she finished, she turned her face to look at her hair before she glanced at the part of her throat that was quickly shown as she moved her face. She corrected the neck of her shirt, making sure it covered everything. When the door opened, she got slightly startled, quickly turned her face to look with an unreadable expression, but that disappeared as soon as she saw it being Nicholas. “Mr.Doctor Dunham!” she exclaimed in a joyful manner as she jumped down from her mirror and ran over to him with open arms. She hugged him tightly, almost with all her strength, seeing that she was very very happy that he was the one to enter the room.
After letting him go, she looked up at him with a curious expression on her face. “You’re different… What has happened?” she asked. It wasn’t that she minded, but she could smell it and feel it on him. For a second she wasn’t even sure if it really was him. It could after all be someone disguised as him. She pinched her eyes shortly before grabbing his hand, pulling up the sleeve. A big grin formed on her face as she saw the bracelet, she let go of his hand before hugging him once again.
But you’re still you. The rest doesn’t matter to me.” She then concluded as she let go of him. She turned to look back at the mirror, eyeing the turtleneck, making sure it was staying. She walked over to her sofa, sitting down before patting the open spot next to her. “Tell me what you have been doing… Obviously been too busy to come visit me… Which I am not very happy about!” she then said, the last part with a pouty face. She had missed him a lot, which she was trying to hold back on showing, though not going so well.

When the door opened he recognized the housekeeper, it was the same girl as the last time, and he was just waiting for whatever remark she had this time. But what she said surprised him, she was a vampire too? That explained where Jonathan go the blood from at least. "Yes Ma'am.." He said politely with a grin on his face. She was quick to figure him out, making him worried John could do the same, even if he wasn't a vampire himself. After stepping inside and hear the door close behind him, he just followed her as silently as he could, hoping John was one of the ones sleeping. Her telling him that he was out of town made him very relieved, dodging a huge bullet there, but it also made him wonder what he was doing. It would have to be a question for the next time he saw him, this visit was all about Lucia, so that's what he was going to focus on.

As the housekeeper opened the door a big smile formed as he could see Lucia sitting there in front of the mirror, when she turned around and saw him he crouched down and opened his arms widely as she ran towards him. "Princess!" he exclaimed as he embraced her with a long and tight hug. It was good seeing her again, the most precious person he knew about, it had been way to long since they last saw each other. But as soon as the hug was over she noticed he was different, it made him feel bad, almost guilty even. He sighed as he responded, "It's a long story princess..." trying to keep as cheerful voice as he could, not wanting her to be scared or sad. When she grabbed his hand he just looked at her with a confused look, until he remembered that he was wearing the bracelet she gave him. He just chuckled as she went in for the hug. "It's been with me this whole time" His voice was full of pride as he said it, it brought him happiness seeing that she still cared for it. "You are too sweet.." His voice had become more soft seeing how much compassion she had, it made the gift he had for her all that more fitting, just as he knew it would be.

"You're looking great as always, nothing but the finest style for the princess!" He said with cheerful tone, looking at her in the mirror. Then he followed her to the sofa, sitting down next to her with a smile as he listened to her. If she only knew how much had happened since they last saw each other, but most of it was not fitting for her, so he would have to make it fit. "I know i know, please accept my deepest apologies, i wanted to come sooner, but so much happened that kept me from coming." He said with sad and apologetic tone. But now it was time for the gift he brought with him. It was something that meant a lot to him back in the day. It was a necklace he got when he was put in charge of the field hospital in the war, symbolizing that he was one that had the responsibility if every patient there. Seeing as what happened, he never wore it after that, he had broken the very thing it symbolized and was no longer worthy of it.. But Lucia was. Up until now it had been hidden in his lab since he took it off. "And we shall talk about it, but first, the gift i promised you." He said with an excited voice, curious to her reaction. He reaches in his inner coat pocket and takes out the [For at se dette link skal du være tilmeldt og logget ind.] he brought with him. Placing it in her hands carefully. "It meant a great deal to me, but i am no longer worthy of it, so I'm passing it on to you. The snake and staff can be interpreted in different ways, good and evil, sickness and health, an old story about it is that the snake will bite the a victim but if the victim looks to the staff, he shall be healed again.. But one thing that it will always represent, is responsibility. If you put this on, you have to help those in need, and harm no one. It's a big responsibility, but i trust it with you." He looks her in the eyes as he tells it with a serious yet a slight cheerful tone. Then smiles at her as he awaits her decision patiently.

The hug was something she had missed, so much too. A big grin was on her face as she listened to him speak. She simply nodded as she then concluded. “Stories are usually fun. But I can see on your face that this one isn’t. So I won’t ask. This time...” As she then checked his wrist for the bracelet.
When he complimented her outfit she chuckled and shook her head. “It’s not even a dress this time. Just regular clothes… Had I known that you’d visit, I’d wear my finest dress!” she laughed. His apology make her shake her head as she lightly patted his arm as some sort of punishment for his absence. “You must never ever do it again!” she exclaimed in a serious tone with a big smile on her face. How could she not smile? She was so happy to see him again.
She looked at the necklace with a surprised expression. Then her eyes glided over to look at his face, but glancing at the necklace as he spoke. She gasped at the story, because it seemed so magical. A staff that could heal. She bit her lip as she thought long and hard about what he asked of her before she then said. “I promise to help those in need and harm no one!” with a happy yet serious tone.
But if he tried to pull down her turtleneck to put it on her neck, she’d push his hand away and get up from the sofa to go away. “I will put it on, myself. Please. I’d much more like that” She said in a low rather nervous tone as she carefully touched the neck of her shirt, making sure that it was still in place.  She didn’t want to talk about why and if he were to ask, she’d just try and change the topic.
So do you think Mr.Jonathan will be gone for long? He didn’t say anything before he left.” She’d say to change the topic. Her voice was slightly trembling, barely noticeable for those who didn’t know her, and the hand that was still holding the turtleneck was shaking lightly. She noticed her behaviour and stepped over to the window before looking out. “It’s rather odd. How he is just… gone.” She said to keep the topic where she wanted it to be.
She closed her eyes and exhaled deeply but quiet to make herself calm down. Then she turned around with a smile on her face, as if nothing had ever happened. She went back to sit on the sofa before she playfully kicked her legs forth in such a little girly manner. “Truly odd.” She then mumbled.

He appreciated that she left the story be for now, he would tell her some time, but this wasn't really the time for it. Then again there wasn't really a perfect time for it, but seeing as it had been so long there was no need to bring the mood down with that, the story could wait. He just smiled as she fiddled with the bracelet she gave him, and when she responded to his compliment it made the smile go even wider. "Noooo~ you don't have to dress up for me, i should be the one doing that" His tone was warm and happy, it was really good to see and talk to her again, it had been way to long, she was right about that. "I swear i will come more often from now on" He said with a serious tone while holding one hand to his chest and the other in the air, swearing on his heart, the heart might have been dead but the promise was still legitimate.

He was waiting patiently for her reply to the responsibility, he could see on her that she was really thinking it through, which might have been an alarm for some people, but not for him. The fact that she thought it through rather than blindly promise meant that she would mean what she said, and thinking ahead was always a smart thing. It made him really happy when she accepted it, it also took some worry away now that he had her word that she would be good, it meant he didn't have to keep an eye on her, well, one less eye at least. She might be a child, but she was really mature, she knew responsibility and compassion like it was drilled in her, no doubt thanks to John, which was also weird, as close as eh was to Lucia, he didn't know anything about her father. He never talked to him, maybe it was because of the shame of letting her die. Either way he always saw John as the father, even though he knew he wasn't. "I'm happy to hear that" He says with a cheerful tone as he moves it closer to her, about to put it on her until she stops him bluntly, which catches him a bit off guard. "Um, okay?.." He is puzzled to why she reacted the way she did, like she was afraid of him touching her, but she didn't mind the hug earlier, nor did she seem afraid of him. He did notice the turtleneck covering her neck, so maybe that's what she was hiding. But what was under it? A wound? What else could it be, and why would she hide it in the first place?

"Are you hiding something Lucia?" He said with a worried tone and a serious face, he wasn't angry at her, nothing could make him angry, but he was worried, she was definitely hiding something, and the fact that she didn't want him to know meant it had to be serious. It was obvious how she avoided the question with another question. He was just still, watching her as she just repeated herself and moved around. His best guess was that John was doing something non business related, but what exactly could be a lot, so he didn't assume anything until he knew. As she sat back down he looked at her for a brief moment. "Yeah business trip of sorts I'm sure." He said very quickly before getting off the sofa and crouching down in front of her, holding one of her hands with both of his while looking up at her. "You know you can tell me anything, right princess? It' doesn't matter what it is, it can stay between us if you want, i am always here to help however i can." He tilts his head slightly while shifting the eyes back and forth between her eyes. "Want to tell me what you are hiding?" His voice was calm and patient, like he could sit there the whole night if he had to. This wasn't about her hiding things from him, of course she could have her privacy, everyone was entitled to that, all he was worried about was that she didn't trust him or think he could help her, which was something he actually feared. Especially if it was something serious, nothing was going to happen to his little princess.

As he asked about what she was hiding, her hand sled up to the turtleneck, touching the fabric with a nervous look in her eyes. She knew that her sudden question wouldn’t work, especially because she was so fixated on trying to make it seem like a genuine wonder. When you’d force something to seem real, it usually didn’t work out. Not that she actually knew that, but she was learning more and more about behaviour, more so with her new terms of living.
Her biggest mistake was sitting down, because it allowed him to touch her. His touch made it that much harder, so when he assured her that she could trust him, there was wasn’t even struggle in keeping it held back – Because it wasn’t possible. She looked at his hands as she sobbed quietly. She started shaking her head as she started rubbing her eyes. “He hates me… He hates me so much. He hates me for killing her… He hates me for not dying.” She then said as the tears started rolling down her cheeks. Both of her hand sought out to hold the neck in place, just in case he tried to remove it for her. She wouldn’t let him. It was too hurtful to show him.
Mr.Johnathan doesn’t know. I don’t want him to know.” She then said as she dried up her eyes. Crying wasn’t going to solve anything. She knew that big girls wouldn’t cry, they would lift their chin high and be strong. So she aspired to be like them, whoever they were. She looked at him with a rather serious look as she then spoke. “But... I don’t mind that he hates me for killing her. But I didn’t mean to. I never meant to. But I did. And I understand.
She grabbed his wrist and looked him in the eyes. “It’s not his fault. So don’t be mad at him, he's human. And don’t tell Jonathan. I can handle it.” She then said as she got up to walk over to her mirror. She clenched her teeth lightly as she pulled it down, revealing the start of a reddish purple mark on the top of her neck. It didn’t hurt anymore, but her being a vampire, no light mark would take that long to heal. She didn’t however look at more than just a glimpse of it. She couldn’t make herself do that. “Promise me, promise to leave it.” She then asked of him, with sad eyes.

Just as he finished asking her he could see her start sobbing, tearing up. He could feel his dead heart squeeze as he hated seeing her in pain, something was wrong and he wasn't there to prevent it. When she started speaking he was left a bit confused to who she was talking about, he hadn't seen anyone act anything but nice towards her. Was she talking about John? or her father? He didn't know her father at all but he never acted weirdly as far as he could tell. And the same went fro John, he seemed like a real father to her so that didn't make much sense.
Then she mentioned someone being killed by her, and whoever she meant hating her for surviving. He got reminded that her mother died at birth, so it would makes sense if she was talking about her mother, surviving could be birth and when she was sick. It didn't really narrow down who it was, the mother was her fathers wife, but wasn't she also an old friend of John? He couldn't speak for her birth, but when she was sick the father was crying by her bed, and John saved her when Nicholas couldn't. He was so caught up with who she was talking about he almost forgot she was hiding something under the turtleneck.

When he saw the tears coming out he moved on hand up to her cheek, wiping away the tears with his thumb, as the other hand was placed on her leg. "It's alright, take your time, relax" His voice was calm and trying to be cheerful for her sake, but it was hard hearing what she said. He noticed how protective she was of the turtleneck as he moved his hands to her cheek, he didn't have any intention of removing it, everything was going to go by her pace, he had to try to keep her feel as safe as possible.
Then she mentioned that John didn't know, which meant it was the father that hated her, it made the most sense, he didn't know him and he had encountered a couple of cases where a family would break apart if the childbirth went wrong. But now that he knew who it was he started to worry more about what had happen to her, he had encountered cases like this before so he started o fear the worst. When she talked about how it was her fault that she died and that it was alright for her father to hate her. That made him slightly angry because it was so wrong, it was not ok at all for her father to act like that. "Listen to me Lucia, what happened to your mother is not your fault. When giving birth there is a thousand things that can go wrong, and none of those things is the baby's fault. It's not alright that he blames you for that, at all. No one is to blame for that, and if you have to push the blame on someone its the person delivering the baby that has the responsibility of making sure everyone comes out alive from it. Do you understand? Its not your fault, so stop thinking it is." His tone was dead serious as he spoke to her, even using her actual name, which was something he never did. His first guess would be postpartum hemorrhage, that was the most common way to die, which basically meant bleeding out. He could understand how the parent would think its the baby's fault when it happens, but when its all over and they go home, its expected that they come to their senses and realized what actually happened. The fact that her father clearly didn't made him even more worried for her.

As she grabbed his wrist and looked at him he had a sorrowful look on him as he looked her in the eyes. What she said made him breathe faster, his heart might have been dead, but his body still knew how to act on feelings, and this was not a good one. then she let go of his arm and walked away. "What are you..." He said faintly as he was in a confused mess. The signs were really clear but he was in a denial state, he didn't want to think anything had happened to his precious princess, he just couldn't handle that thought. He got up and slowly made his way around the sofa as he looked at her, and when she moved the turtleneck down he saw the mark, something snapped in him. His hand started to tremble and his expression was a dead one, just starting in to the air in her direction. His breath became heavier and there was growling coming from the bottom of his lungs, his humanity was vanishing by the second as his blood was at its boiling point. That son of a bitch actually hurt her, he was going to rip him apart, limb from limb, make sure he choked on his own blood. He dared to touch her?.. He heard what she said about promising, but it flew right passed him, there was no way he was going to let this just slide. How could anyone even think about hurting someone as innocent as her? His fangs were down, he was out for blood but he had no intention of feeding of that disgusting person, but he would bleed, that was damn sure. "Where is he?" He said in a low and trembling voice, his tone was dark and distant. He was in a state of mind that would not be broken, not before he did what he set out to do.
He headed towards the door and quickly opened it, he didn't care about whoever was sleeping and if they woke up, not now. He started checking every room he came across for her father.
