On one of the shelfs, she saw it. A small notebook that seemed rather interesting. She picked it out, looking at the backside of it. Something seemed odd, there was something about this notebook that made her feel very uncomfortable. She turned the book around, to read the title. She threw the book on the table, staring at it as if it was something dangerous. Which it was. She was both confused and uncertain on what it was and why it was here, of all places.
Lucy however wanted to know. She needed to know. So Lucile sat down, opening it, reading the first page. She couldn’t believe what she was reading. She didn’t want to believe it. After tormenting herself by continuing to read, she started crying. She didn’t understand. Lucy wasn’t saying anything and for the first time in her life, she felt alone. She got up, rubbing her temples as she walked around, trying to gather herself. Normally Lucy would’ve taken over now, but she couldn’t. She was just as affected by the discovery as Lucile was.
She didn’t even notice the door opening, but she heard her sister’s voice in a farewell. Then footsteps. Her shoulders were shaking from the fear, yet her eyes were placed on the notebook on the table. She spoke through clenched teeth, yet it was obvious that she was scared:” Where… did you get that from? What is it.. Why is it here… I don’t understand…” she mumbled. Then she looked at him, this time as if he had frightened her. She backed away from him shaking her head, closing her eyes, refusing to believe the reality she had just met.
“Is this some sort of demeaning joke? A way to mess with my head? Because… its working… Its definitely working..” she then said, backing so far off that her back touched the wall. She glided down the wall, until she was sitting. She covered her face so she wouldn’t have to hold her eyes closed, though it wasn’t helping. Closing her eyes, she just saw the words, written on her eyelids like a banner. There was no way she could stop it from running through her memory. “Please… tell me its not real… I…” she pleaded in a shaky voice.

"I know this is hard on you, you weren't suppose to read that, or even know about it. Not yet." he says as get moves closer to her, but not too fast, she was clearly scared of him after reading it, and it was fully understandable. "I got it from your sister, it will be a huge help to reversing what he did to you." It was so good seeing her again, but not like this, not with that information just pushed onto her. She would see it eventually but it would be better if he could have eased her into it. As he gets to her he crouches down and gently grabs her hands, trying to move them away from her face. "Its real Lucile.. I'm sorry you had to see it like that, it's not how i wanted you to discover it" he says with a sad expression on his face as he looks her in the eyes. He moves his hands to her shoulder as he moves her in for a hug. He hated seeing her like this, just like before, whenever she was devastated like this his hear felt like it was tying a knot around itself. He should have hidden the book better, he knew it was stupid of him to just place it in the bookshelf. Hopefully he could make this better for her.

But how could she believe him anyway? Did she want to believe him? All these questions that’d pop into her mind, more and more as the seconds passed, making her head feel heavy. She wanted to cry. She really just wanted to break down and cry. But nothing would come out because it wasn’t sadness that she felt, it was emptiness. She felt empty, nothing made sense, the book had taken it all and shattered it. How could she even trust herself? Wouldn’t that just be another trick that Ramsay had placed in her mind?
She gasped in a scared reaction when he pulled her into a hug which only caused her to shake more. She closed her eyes, trying to forget what she read. She felt so tired yet restless at the same time. Sleeping wouldn’t help her either, she would probably dream about it, more than she could think about it. She looked at her arm, the scars that used to not make sense, suddenly had all sense in the world. She was an experiment. The things she read was a sadist’s view on her. And he just wrote about her like she wasn’t even a living being but rather some toy. She felt less of a person, now more than ever.
“Don’t…. touch me… I don’t know… if you’re not just… working for him.. You might as well….” she mumbled, obviously trying to villainize him. She didn’t feel good about it, more so did she hate to reject him. She pulled herself away from him, before turning her back to him. She was now pressing her side against the wall, hugging her knees while staring at the wall. She didn’t want to speak, she didn’t want to think. “Starting with the muscles on her right arm….. she struggled against my cut, causing me to cut uneven….” She recited with a voice that was disgusted and shaky from the notebook. Yet she continued:”…such a shame really…. .... But she thought twice of struggling after I… digged… my finger… in the fresh cut… causing her to scream loudly... As if Anyone… would... hear her pleas? Silly girl…” she finished, at this point barely being able to speak from the shakiness in her voice. She was sobbing, trying not to cry.

As she started speaking he was confused, trying to figure out what she was talking about, but then it started to make sense, she was reciting what she had read from the book. That wasn't good, it meant it had been imprinted in her mind. He heard the affect it had on her and tried to stop her. "Lucile stop, please... don't do this to yourself.." yet she ignored him and finished the sentence. As she was nearing the end of it her voice was giving up from the pain, bringing a tear to his eye, rolling down his cheek as he clenched his teeth together. The knot on his heart was getting tighter. As he hears her sobbing he places a hand on her shoulder carefully, ignoring his own advice from earlier. "Lucile?..." He had trouble with his own voice at this point, getting affected by her as she was breaking down. "Please talk to me... don't go through this alone.." Nothing killed him more than knowing she went through this alone, pushing him away. If he was not able to help her, then what the hell was he useful for.. He felt the guilt consume him as he looked at her, she wouldn't be in this position if it wasn't for him. It was his fault she was suffering right now, because of his own stupidity.
He thought about the sedative in his bag, it would make her sleep, getting her out of the traumatic experience for now. And after resting she would be more fit to handle the situation. That was the best case scenario, worst case would be making her take the sedative, she gets knocked out for a while, has a nightmare the short time she is under and wakes up with a headache after sedative, making her more afraid of him. Besides, it wouldn't be fair, he had no right doing it, he didn't even want to do it, he was just trying to think of solutions. She had to deal with this sooner or later, fate had decided it would be now, so they would just have to make the best of the situation, bad as it was.

“I’m sorry…” she whispered, a bit muffled from having her face pressed against his shirt. She was still shaking, but it had calmed down a bit and now only came in short intervals. It was so hurtful and there was no way for her to stop the pain either. She closed her eyes, turning her head leaning closer into him. She didn’t say anything. What where there to say? All that was on her mind was what she had read, and she wasn’t sure that it was a good idea to recite more pages. Lucy however had other plans. Lucile suddenly went numb, an indicator that Lucy was taking over.
“Why did Moon give it to you? Cant you see that it doesn’t make sense? Why would she have any reason to give it to you at all?” she asked in a sceptic voice before sitting up. She looked rather angry and slightly confused. To her it didn’t make sense at all. For Lucy, the only option, that made sense was that he must have had this book for a while. She got up, her legs being a bit wobbly at first, but then to stand completely still. It was clear that Lucy was also fighting her emotions in this. “How the hell can we know that you’re not in this? You might as fucking well be.” she then said angrily, before grabbing his collar, pulling him to his feet.
She stared him angrily in the eyes, awaiting an answer. But no answer was going to be good enough for her. She was too blinded by it all. For her it didnt matter either if what she said was hurtful. She just justified it with her own pain being "worse". Lucile was hating every bit of this, but it wasnt like she could do anything, being as affected by it.
So Lucy wanted to take her anger out of him. She pushed him onto the wall, clenching her teeth:” Even if you were to help us… You cant. My body is gone. Do you understand? He burned my body!” she exclaimed before letting him go, seeing that she didn’t want to hurt him. She did want to break something though. She turned around, ready to walk out the door, not knowing that would be her biggest mistake.

As she turned around facing the door he knew she was thinking of leaving, which wasn't good, not in her condition. Besides, he didn't want her to leave, selfish as he was. He grabs her shoulder as he walks in front of her, looking her in the eyes. "We will fix this, i promise you" saying with determined eyes. This was something he would not break, he was going to make good on that promise, whatever it took. They have gotten too far to stop now. "We are so much closer on this than we were before, don't give up on me yet" If she left he would be more worried than before, a lot more, seeing as she was angry and emotional which could lead to a lot of things happening. It was better if she stayed here ant took it out on him, then he'd know she was safe. She could stay here for as long as she wanted, he didn't mind that, in fact he relished at the idea of it. "Please stay..." he said with an almost pleading voice, not breaking eye contact with her.

As she was trying to leave, he was trying to stop her. “I’m going to do something horrible, Nicholas. I don’t want you to follow me, I cant assure your safety around me. I want you to leave us alone… For now. For Lucile. Think about her.” she said, trying not to look at him. She had already made her mind up, and there was no chance of her changing her mind. She lifted her eyes, looking into his, not hiding how serious the words were. She moved closer to him, feeling his chest against hers as she whispered to him:” We wont hold back this time…” before she went past him.
She was planning on coming back to him eventually. She didn’t know when, but this discovery was just too much. Inside Lucy’s mind something had been broken. In an attempt to collect the pieces, she had absorbed a part of the attitude from the notebook. She was practically a mini Ramsay, risen from the dead. She wasn’t showing the traits yet, but they would come. She stopped in the door, turning her head slightly to the side as an indicator that she was going to say something. But no words were said, and she left.
**A week or so later**
She stood at his door, Lucy. She didn’t have any intention of coming back, but something had happened, something even her new personality couldn’t zone out. She needed his help. She knocked on the door in a calm manner. Her expressions had changed, it was like she had lost all her emotions. She no longer felt like she needed to protect Lucile, actually she felt more like getting rid of her. Knowing that there was a way, she had to come back.
When he opened the door, she just stepped in, not saying anything as long as the door was open. She went in his study, taking off a jacket she got from some person she didn’t even know. The blood on the shoulder of the jacket however, spoke for the previous owner’s fate. She exhaled and rubbed her hands together while looking around. It was obvious that she was looking for the notebook. “I’m guessing you’ve used your time to study the book?” she finally said after not talking at all. She turned to him and smiled shortly, a smile that wasn’t warm or friendly, but slightly forced.
“Before you ask, then I have to say that I haven’t heard from Lucile. She barely talks nowadays.” she then said, smiling a little bit at it. The truth behind it was that Lucy had been suppressing her influence. She had taken advantage of Lucile and somehow switched their dominance around. She didnt even feel bad about it. She actually felt rather relieved. She had never felt more of a person that she had the last week.

As she went past him he stood still, looking blank in the space ahead of him. But when he heard her stop at the door he turned around, hoping she had reconsidered. She remained silent and left without looking back. He stared at the door for a brief moment, trying to get a hold of his thoughts, but he feels the anger boil up to his head. He turns around and kicks a chair in the side, flinging it across the room. "GODDAMMIT" he yelled placing both his hands on his face, pressing hard against it. After a brief thought, he ran for the door opening it to go after her, but his grip held tight on the frame, not letting go. He had to stop himself, this was something she had to deal with alone, he would just have to trust her to not do anything stupid. The door shut behind him as he shuffled back to the table in an almost zombie like state, dropping down on the chair behind it. Staring at the book that cause all this he wanted to rip it to shreds and burn every single piece of paper in it to ashes, if it wasn't for the fact that he needed it. He reached out for it and dragged it to him, opening it on the first page.
"Day 1.." It started the way he expected it, it was similar to how they did it in the hospital, if the devil was the one writing it that is. But there further he got, the harder it was to continue, emotions of all kind filled him as more he read. The guilt of not being able to help her, the anger for Ramsey, and the sadness for what had been done to her. As he read the book he didn't move an inch throughout the entire book. But after reading a few days, seeing what was done to her, he was shaking, tears were rolling down his face as he felt the hearts grip getting tighter. When finishing the book he threw it on the table, he knew this was going to be hard. And the answers he was looking for were in the book. But it wasn't the answers he wanted. It had only made it worse. He knew he couldn't work under the emotional pressure he was under, he couldn't move the focus away from Lucile, so there was only one solution to it. He stood up and walked over to the bag by the door, tears dripping to the floor, he was not crying, but tears kept running down the cheeks of his emotionless face. He opens the bag and picks up a syringe, checking that it was not one of the sedatives from earlier, it had to be morphine. After confirming it brings a medical belt and moves over to the sofa. He sits down on it, rolling up his sleeves, fastening the belt above his elbow, exposing the veins. He holds up the syringe, gazing at it like he was reconsidering his options. Lucile would probably hate him for doing this, but it was a necessity, this was for her. Making him focus on the task at hand. He moves down to his arm, piercing the vein as he slowly presses the morphine in, leaning back as he feels it enter his body. He puts the syringe on a table nearby, loosens the belt and leans down on the sofa, feeling the high overtaking his emotions..
**A week or so later**
The mess was everywhere, he hadn't washed since the day before she left. He was wearing the same clothes as well, not once taken them off, he walked around with only a now beyond filthy shirt that had a ripped open sleeve, sick of rolling it up and down all the time. He had a small stubble growing, his eyes were that of a broken man, the redness under his eyes was clear as day. His sleeping consisted of passing out from exhaustion or a morphine injection. He had skipped days without eating anything, only swallowing down something when he was too weak to work. There had been little patients coming but the ones that had come he ignored, pretending to not be home, locking the door. He had spent every waking moment pouring over books and paper. As for the notebook from Ramsey, he didn't even need it anymore. every word was written in the back of his head, he had read it over and over every day to see if there was something he missed. But no.. The book was in the fireplace, everyday when he passed it he wanted to light it up. But he knew it wasn't his place to do so.
He had been through every book that could even remotely help him. Physiology, psychology, demon lore, demon anatomy, abilities, abilities of the mind, several different surgery books, the list of them were endless. And they were all over the place, on the table the floor, the chairs. One of the books was ripped in half near the door. Frustration had gotten to him several times which was easily seen by the fresh wounds on his hands and the broken stuff around the house. He hadn't left the house in all this time, which he had to do soon. After hitting a wall in the work, he started working on the blood samples he had collected, and luckily enough found a match from a previous epidemic. That was three days ago, and he still hadn't sent word to Langdon about it. He planned on doing it all the time, but it got pushed all the time because of the work. And every time he hit a full stop in his work, his thoughts went to Lucile, what she had been doing all this time, and how disappointment she would be when she came back, and him not being closer to fixing her. And thoughts like that always lead to more morphine. The amount he was taking had increased enormously the last week, so much in fact that he had to look for veins in different places before they were used up.
And that's how every day went, work, failure, breaking something, morphine, repeat.
This day was no different, after having another injection he shuffled around looking for one of the books he might have missed something in. picking up one by one, reading the title and dropping it back down, the high was dying down and before he found the book he was looking for he heard another knock on the door, he was tired of people looking for help, there was no time for them. This time he didn't pretend to be away and made his way over to the door, opening it "I'm not taking any patien..." before he finished he saw it was Lucile. And shame filled his body the way he looked. But she just walked right past him, ah, it was Lucy, the shame disappeared as he didn't care what she thought of him. He shut the door behind her. When he looked back at her he noticed how his place looked, Books and paper everywhere, furniture knocked over, syringes laying around everywhere. But he was to far gone to care. He heard her question and looked at her fake smile, seeing right through it, also noticing the blood on the coat. Ignoring the question he walked towards her. "Where did you get that coat?.. What did you do?.. What did you make her do?.." with a voice that was getting louder and louder. As she mentioned how Lucile was barely there his rage was at an all time high, being unstable as he was, adding the suppressed emotions to his anger he lost control. When he was in range of her he grabbed her upper arms firmly as he continued to move he back, pressing her hard up against the bookshelf with the remaining strength he had left in his body, fueled by adrenaline and unstable anger. "What did you do to her?!" with a dark voice, flickering his eyes back and forth on her eyes. Forgetting Lucile was inside her.

She felt his grip around her upper arms and she didn’t fight back, this was fun! She leaned back against the bookshelf, looking at the ceiling for a short while as she laughed. “Why are you asking me? You broke her with having the book here. She’s so broken that I believe she’s barely there.” She then said, looking at him before tilting her head to the side. She was hoping to hit a nerve, the nerve that would break him down instead of angering him further. Wouldnt the best way be through projecting the blame? Make it seem like it was all his fault? It might as well be. However her smile faded quickly:” I am not here for simple chit chat. I asked you a question.” She then said, grabbing his upper arms from below. Hopefully her words had reached him, causing the inner confusion in him, that she wanted. She slowly dragged him closer to her, looking around his face.
“You know… She loves you. She truly loves you… If she knew what love was. I can feel it.” she said in a hushed voice with an unreadable smile on her face. She tightened her grip on his arms, with a sudden frown:” How she yearns for your touch, wanting to be near you, hear you, smell you… seek your protection…” she continued, this time with a slight jealousy in her voice. She clenched her teeth shortly after, thinking about what she wanted her next move to be. But then she realized. And a big grin spread on her face followed by a chuckle:” She’s not here to stop me anymore. You’re not a threat anymore… I can kill you!” she then said in a cheerful voice.
Shortly after she tightened her grip further, in a way that would start to hurt him. She used this opportunity to push him down, only squeezing harder if he struggled against her will. She smiled lightly down at him, letting him go. She then noticed the syringes:” Oh.. I see. Well that’s perfect. Sit tight doctor. We'll fix ya right up” she then said, picking up a couple of unused syringes. She looked at them, trying to determine if it was the right content in them all. Not that it would matter anyway. She then went to him, ready to push him down if he would attempt to get up. She had been feeding properly, so she was at her full strength.
“This is almost like a tragic story… Isn’t it?” she asked in a rather mournful voice, yet there was a hidden happiness behind it. She rolled up his sleeve, looking at the old marks, noticing that there was more. She looked at him and smiled in a sweet way before she then said:” Is there anything you want to say to her? I doubt she’ll hear you.. But we’ll see..” she said, obviously believing that there was no way that Lucile would come back and take control. A part of her was conflicted in this, but that was Lucile's feelings, the feelings that Lucy wanted gone. The only way to get them away and possibly completely remove Lucile, was to kill him.

After delivering her threat and pushing him down on the table, his body was like a rag doll to her touch, there was no struggle, his mind was in distress, but he heard what she said, and he knew she meant it. "Please.. i cant.. take this. End it..." he said with a pleading voice. He was begging her to end his suffering, begging her to kill him. As she let him go to pick up the syringes he paid no attention to it, he just laid there on the table, looking up in the air, tears running down the sides of his temples, Spending his last thoughts on Lucile, hoping she would make it out of this somehow. Hoping he would meet her again somewhere. He felt her rolling up his sleeve, he knew what was coming, an ironic death. Morphine, the thing he used to escape his troubles, would now end them once and for all.. As she asked him for any last word for Lucile he replied. "I'm sorry i couldn't save you... I'm sorry i made this happen to you... Just know.. i Love you Lucile.." With an almost peaceful voice, he had accepted death, he welcomed it, his suffering was finally over. He closed his eyes and just laid still on the table waiting for Lucy to end it. He knew death would eventually catch up with him, the amount of times he had avoided him, the reaper would always have his way in the end, thinking back on the times he should have died, then using his last thoughts on Lucile again. The beautiful creature that saved his life from bitterness and hate. He was glad to have met her..

She started shaking her head as an uncomfortable feeling spread in her head. It was the memories. She let go of the syringe, letting it fall on the ground, before she pressed her fingers against her temples:” No…. go away…” she mumbled. Nevertheless, it was no use. Lucy had not confronted the book like Lucile had. She had suppressed it, absorbed the words of a sadist to aid her suppression. It felt like a bad headache, the memories. She clenched her fists before she slammed them angrily on the table.
“You were supposed to be gone! Why cant you just….. let me do this..” she exclaimed with a sorrowful voice. It seemed as if she was communicating with Lucile, but she wasn’t. She was communicating with her old self. The real Danielle Addams. The person she once was. She started shaking, staring at the book as if it was toxic. She got up, completely forgetting all about Nicholas, she went to the fireplace and picked up the book. She stared at it, holding it out in a stretched arm. “He should’ve burned it… Why…. Of course..” she then said, stopping herself from talking further. She didn’t say anything, she just stared at the book in her hand.
“SHUT THE HELL UP!” she suddenly yelled, throwing the book on the ground, looking at it as if it was talking to her. Which it was in her mind. She was hearing Danielle in her head. “You died with the body. Lucile is gone… Hopefully dead. Don’t you get it? I’m not you and I’m not Lucile. I’m finally my own person. I dont need any of you!” she then said. All her attention was towards the book, clearly making her vulnerable to anything. Tears started rolling from her cheeks as she continued to seem like she was having a conversation with the book. She fell on her knees, covering her face:” Shut up…. Shut up…..” she pleaded.

As she falls to her knees he moves in, grabbing her head as he leans down on her, forcing the needle in her neck, injecting the sedative. Just as he finishes she pushes him away with incredible force, making him almost fly backwards as he lands on his back. She struggles to stand as she walks towards him. He manages to get on his knees before she tumbles down, just before she hits the ground he catches her, falling down with her on top of him. He breathes out relieved things worked out. But he had to act fast, he had no idea how long it would work on a demon, and a blood demon at that. Thinking about the possible outcomes he sticks to one, seeing as there was no progress before she woke up. He gently picks her up, holding her in his hands as he looks on her face, desperately wanting Lucile to still be in there somewhere. The safest place would be on the operating table, so he carried her down to his lab, gently putting her down on the steel table, fastening leather restraints on her wrists ankles and hips. He didn't like doing this, restraining Lucile. He felt like a monster while doing it, seeing himself as another Ramsey, strapping her to a table. It was for Lucy, but it still didn't feel right. "Please forgive me Lucile.." he says with a shattering voice, leaning on the table with his elbows, around her midsection, holding his head with both hands, letting a tear drip from his cheek, landing on the steel table.

The anaesthetics wouldn’t last forever. And as the effects were fading and she was able to wake up, she opened her eyes slightly. It was Lucile. She saw the opportunity to surpass Lucy, though it wouldn’t be for long. She felt the restraints when she tried to move her hand, but it wasn’t that she really minded. She knew that as soon as Lucy realized, she would be gone again. She shallowed air before speaking in a soft low tone:" I don’t blame you for all this... not at all.." she then said; looking at him. She tried to lift her hand, she wanted to touch his face so bad. But she also knew that it wouldn’t be very wise. The drugs were still in effect and it was partly why she seemed so calm and cheerful:” Thank you... for loving me." she then said. She smiled lightly, yet she closed her mouth to shallow more air, closing her eyes shortly, about to drift off again. She however managed not to, not before she had made her request:" Nicholas... can you... kiss me? Please.." she asked, turning her face in his direction before opening her eyes.
If he kissed her, she would press her lips back against his as he kissed her. She then closed her eyes and smiled for a short while:" Don’t weep for me.. I'm not worthy of your tears." she whispered. She was definitely enjoying this moment of peace. But it wouldn’t last long, she knew that. She wasn’t going to warn him either, not wanting him to worry about her. She exhaled and lifted her hand as high as she could, opening it so he could grab it. A pain was spreading in her head, she wasn’t sure if it was Lucy or something else, but she knew this wasn’t going to to pass just yet. Her priority for the moment was to remain calm and not worry Nicholas.
Her other hand would grasp the edge of the steel table and if he held her hand, he'd feel her tighten her grip. She was holding back her strength, even as the pain started intensifying. She remained calm and in control thus the pain, at least as long as the sedatives were working. But it was also partly because of the suppression that she had gone through the last week. She was still adjusting to be in control of the body. "Staying with me from this point forward... will only hurt you.. Get some rest... I'll be fine." she said, wanting him to leave her. She didn't really try to sound convincing other than it was the truth. But it would be his choice, would he leave her be for the rest of the night and possibly feel worse from helplessly watch her toss and turn in pain? Or would he save himself the pain and ease her mind? The pain quickly became unbearable and she started shaking. Now that the barrier that used to protect her from the memories was completely shattered, her body had gone back to rejecting Lucy. She started struggling against the restraints, instead wanting to curl up and somewhat attempt to hide from the pain. It wouldn't take long before her body started having minor seizures, though for each seizure, the duration would extend.

Sv: What... is this? - Nicholas
Then he remembered "Day 3. ..by the time we were finished, Lucile’s body started rejecting the soul.." Was she rejecting Lucy? If that was the case then she would die.. Lucy might have done terrible things but she didn't deserve to die, and that blood would be on his hands if it came to that. But there was nothing he could do, just like the book said, you needed two people with great mind abilities. He knew no one like that and trying to find this Dr. Jeremy would take too long. But he couldn't just watch he in pain like this while doing nothing, the least he could do was ease her pain. He lets go of her hand. "I will be right back alright?" He runs upstairs and fetches the Morphine syringe lying on the floor and proceeds to run back down to her. "You will feel a slight sting alight?" She would probably not even feel the needle seeing the pain she was in, but it was a habit saying it. He holds her arm down as he gently presses the needle in her vein, releasing the morphine, hoping it helps her, even if its just a slight bit. He had no idea how many of these shakes she would have, or how long they would last, but if she was rejecting Lucy then there was almost a guarantee it would turn into seizures. But he had to be careful with the morphine, too much and too frequently would get her addicted, and there was no way he was having that for her.
After putting away the syringe he held her hand firmly with one hand as he held her head with the other, making sure she didn't hurt herself as this went on. Seeing her in pain like that was unbearable, especially knowing he couldn't do anything about it, other than watch.. But there was no way he was leaving her here alone. He was going to stand by her side until it was over, no matter how long it would take. "Hang in the Lucile.. please.."

The restraints were not helping her either. The more she fought them, the more she started bruising, her feet and wrist affected the most. Loosing the restraints however would not make it any better. Nothing could really help her situation. A sudden movement in her spine, being attached to the hips, a cracking sound was heard. She lifted her head, spurting blood out over herself. Her grip in his was weaker due to the morphine which was good, because she probably wouldve used all her strength.
The seizures stopped for a short while, giving her some time to regain her strength. "..You... have to... fix my rib... right now..." she then said, clearly in a lot of pain even though the morphine was in her blood. She couldnt help him much on what rib was broken. He would have to find it on his own, pressing her ribs until she'd react on the broken one.
It would keep going like this for an hour or so. A couple of bad seizures, bones breaking, followed by her throwing up blood, and then a short break. By the end of the hour she felt the tears run down her cheeks, not that she was crying, but her body was exhausted and she was getting weaker.
She let herself go numb, exhaling relieved at the ceiling, when she realized that the worst was over. Her body had overcome the rejection and was now functioning properly again. Her breathing was heavy and filled with exhaustion. She was feeling groggy from the mixture of morphine and constant pain. She turned her face, looking at Nicholas, before she lifted her free hand and stroked his face:" I could never leave you.." she said with a slight smile on her face. But she was so tired now.
She let go of his face then to attempt to free herself from the restraints, not that she really could, she was after all at her lowest right now. After being free from the restraints, she carefully pushed herself up, refusing to get any help, no matter how much her arms seemed to shake of exhaustion. She got on her feet, clenching her teeth when she felt how her right leg had been sprained. She grabbed Nicholas by the shoulders, carefully standing on her shaky legs. "I... I just need a moment... I can walk... I can do it..." she kept saying, even though it was clear that she was struggling. It wasnt that she would get mad at him for helping her, but she felt much better trying to do it on her own.

He immediately jumped off her and removed the restraints, trying to help her up, but she clearly wanted to do it herself, so he just stood close by, ready to intervene. "Take it easy" with a concerned voice, he had heard and felt bones break, it was hard for him not to just carry her off. When she leaned of the table he held around her back, trying to keep weight off her legs. "I know you can, just take it slow alright?" They took their time getting back up, lifting he a tiny bit off the leg as they slowly walked up the stairs. When they reached the top he lead her to the sofa, helping her lay down. He sits next to her, holding the side of her face with his hand, stroking her cheek with his thumb, smiling at her. "I knew you would pull through" He looks into her eyes as he goes in for a very gentle kiss on her lips. He was so happy she got through the worst part. She was lucky she had her demon traits working overtime to fix her, if she was a human he would have bedridden her fro several months. But he didn't purely rely on her demon self. He would have to check and support her wounds the best he could. And after some rest he could use his healing power if it was needed.

As he helped her lay down on the sofa, she finally felt completely at ease. She wasn’t sure what had happened to Lucy. If she was still in there somewhere. Maybe some day she’d come back, maybe she wouldn’t. Only time could tell for now. She leaned in against his hand, putting her hand on the back of his, smiling lightly. “I had you by my side all along… It was only expected.” she said with a smile on her face. When he leaned in for a kiss, she complied, putting her hand around his neck as their lips touched.
Somehow, she wanted more. As selfish as it was, she couldn’t get enough of him. But she also knew that he needed to rest. As the kiss ended, she moved her face a bit backwards, just to see the whole of his. Slowly moving the hand on his neck up before she’d touch his cheek, running her hand slowly up to his forehead, sliding a finger down his nose. She smiled with a slight grin but she was much happier than that. She wouldn’t even be able to describe what she was feeling in this moment.
She let her hand fall down from his face, looking him in the eyes. “You need to rest. I don’t care if you’re really happy that I’m here… I’m also here when you wake up.” She said, not in a harsh tone, even chuckling a little bit at the middle part. But she was serious. She wasn’t planning on leaving him anytime soon, at least not until they would have had enough time together. She sat up, slowly to not hurt anything. When she was up, she’d grab him by the collar, pulling him down on the sofa instead of her. She was exhausted, but it wasn’t due to lack of sleep. Him however, it was almost written all over his face. She looked at him, shortly before she started stroking his face in gentle and soft strokes with the back of her hand. “You don’t have to sleep right away. But at least stay down and close your eyes..” she said in a low voice.

Her dreams were all odd. They were constantly changing and it was hard to figure out the context of them. But every time she felt uncertain or uncomfortable, she squeezed her hand carefully, to make sure that he was there. Every time, her dreams would change and become peaceful for a short while. She was thankful that the nightmares were gone. However, it was probably just another side-effect of being alone in her mind. Even though she was angry at Lucy – angry being an understatement, she frankly hated her for what she had done, she still found it in her heart to worry about her. She knew that the Lucy that had been there the last week wasn’t the real Lucy.
She wasn’t sure what time it was when she woke up. She didn’t sleep for long, she didn’t really need to. But she felt uncomfortably hungry and smelling Nicholas, feeling his heartbeat and knowing how human he was, wasn’t exactly helping either. Not that she could ever find it in her to hurt him or even consider him a meal. She sat up, carefully trying not to wake him. She could go out for a quick bite, but she wasn’t sure on her legs. The sprain was gone or at least it felt that way.
A silent sigh escaped her mouth. She wouldn’t leave him. Not risking him waking up and getting all worried. All the worrying had to stop. As she sat up, she got to look around the room. It was at this moment she really noticed how her absence had affected him. She looked down on the floor and noticed the empty syringes. She slowly reached down, not because she was attempting to be sneaky, but more to go easy on her broken rib. She looked at the syringe, turning it before she turned to him. She put the empty syringe on the table before she looked at him. He looked so peaceful. She couldn’t help but smile. But her smile faded as she turned her attention to his arm. She noticed the torn shirt, slowly spreading it apart she saw the marks.
She wasn’t exactly happy about it. One part of her just wanted to wake him up and scream at him for doing it, but another part was more understanding. It was not her place to judge him for his actions, yet it saddened her to know that these new marks on his arm was caused by her and her disappearance. She slowly ran her fingers over the marks, sighing, trying not to be too loud.

He turns his arm around hiding the marks from Lucile, he couldn't bare the shame he felt. "I'm sorry you have to see that..." Even his voice couldn't hide his shame. He knew that she knew about it, she figured that out the first time they saw each other, but to feel her touch it, looking at it, thinking about it. He felt bad for her, hopefully she didn't blame herself for it, why would she, it wasn't her fault, far from it actually. It was his own stupid decisions that led to it. Instead of stopping before it became a problem he continued, for several years. But only in moderate doses until the recent week. This week was bad, it had gotten way out of hand, he could even feel a slight itch as he thought about it.
As he spoke to her there was no way he could turn around and look at her, not with the shame he felt, so he just laid in the same position. "You shouldn't burden yourself with this... it's my problem.. i don't want you to worry..'" It's not like he had tried stopping before, it didn't do him any harm, his self loathing had no problem with the morphine, there was no one around that knew about it, so there was no reason to stop doing it as long as it worked. But now, there was Lucile, there was no way she approved of it, and why should she, it was a bad habit, did more harm than good. If you call suppressing emotions good. It would be hard, but he was willing to try giving it up for her, but it would not be a pretty sight, he knew how withdrawal worked, he had helped several patients out of it, and it was not a pleasant thing. Could he really expose that to her? She didn't deserve this shit..

"I wont apologize for the horrible things I have done. You know the past is unchangeable, yet you hide your face in shame as if you could've changed the outcome." she then said, staring at the ground, while a firm grip that she had placed on her knees tightened. And then he asked her not to burden herself with it, which made her a bit angry. Not her problem? She felt her nails fight the fabric of her pants, before she let go, ruining her pants wouldn’t help the situation.
Instead she then turned her face to him, with a slight frown on her face, crawling up on him so he couldn’t escape her confrontation:” Now you listen here. I don’t know why you even think that it’s not my burden or problem or worry. That’s like telling me that I can’t love you. It’s not your place to determine that.” She said, looking rather disappointed. However she continued:” If you’re allowed to feel bad for that, then I should definitely feel bad for what I did while I was gone or my life before I met you. And if you’re already thinking that I’m wrong then look at me and say so, Nicholas.” She demanded in a rather harsh and serious tone. It might’ve been that their cases were different, but she was the one who had hurt other people, he hadn’t inflicted pain on anyone but himself – If it would even be considered as pain.
Then she realized that she had been raising her voice. She exhaled deeply and shook her head, sitting back up, but still on him:” I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to be so loud.. I’m just trying to tell you that you’re wrong for feeling shameful towards me..” she said, rubbing her neck and not even attempting to look at him. She wasn’t really sure on what to say and the whole context of the situation just made her question her liability as help to him.
“Besides... after all, it really is my fault. This wouldn’t have happened if we never met..” the words were bitter and she was quick to regret even saying them. But to her it seemed like the truth. It made her heart feel heavy and aching. She started sobbing, covering her face with one hand. It wasn’t that she wanted to cry, because she knew that would just make him sad too. But wasn’t that what she had been doing to him all along? Make him sad? Was the scale for happy/sad even remotely even? Not in her head. “I want you to be happy. I don’t want to be the cause of your hurting anymore..” she whispered, trying to get a hold of herself.

He moves his hands to her thighs and gently strokes them as he says calmly "It's alright.. i understand that now.." He knew that he couldn't shut her out of his problems now, it was not his place to do so.
What she said next immediately go to him. He quickly sits up as she still sits on him, holds a hand on her upper arm as he moves the hand out of her face, tilting his head slightly down looking at her. "Listen to me Lucile, you are not responsible for what i did to myself, you hear me?" he said with a serious and slightly angry voice, not being angry at her, but the fact that he made her think she was the cause. "I started this a long time before i met you, and each and every syringe you see here is my doing, not yours. You're right, this would never happen if we never met, Us. We would never happen, if you hadn't set your foot through my door that day... you are the reason I'm alive Lucile.." he said with a sad but also happy tone. There had been days in the past where he thought about ending it all, the worst days, remembering what he had lost, the people that died because of him. But when he met Lucile, it all changed, he found a purpose again, a reason to live.. "So don't weep for me.." Smiling at her as he places a hand on her cheek, wiping a tear away with his thumb. He wraps his arms around her, pulling her in for a hug. "Don't you get it? You are my happiness, you are my light in this world, you could never cause me pain, for as long as it involves you there will be joy in my heart." After some brief silence, feeling her warm embrace, he had a resolution. "I'm going to stop.. starting now.. but it won't be a pretty sight... are you up for that?" He said with a caution in his voice. He would not think any differently of her whatever she chose to do. There was nothing in this world that could even put a dent in the love he felt for her.

She looked down as he spoke, most of it, she already knew. It was one of Lucy's first observations, the tired worn out look, the marks. She was still trying to get a hold of herself, trying to stop the sobbing but it was difficult. And then he said it.
"You're the reason I'm alive Lucile." It melted her heart. She looked at him, almost instantly the sobs stopped and the last tear rolled down her cheek. She placed both of her hands on his cheeks before leaning in for a kiss, that started gently on his upper lip. She ran her fingers down his cheeks, placing them gently on his neck as she pressed her upper body against his.
She looked at him, into his eyes, felt his hand on her face, removing her tears with his thumb. She leaned against his hand, closing her eyes with a slight smile on her face listening to him talk:" Thats because you're human... filled with emotions..." she teased in a silly soft tone. It wasnt that she thought it was bad, it was actually why she loved him. He made her feel. By being with him, she got to taste the sweet flavour of emotions and she loved every bit of it.
"You dont have to stop... not right away. You can fight the urges and try not to give in. But I wouldnt think of you any different." she said, carressing his cheek lightly. She didnt mean to crush his spirit so she shook her head with a chuckle:" However I'm not the doctor here.. If you want to go through with this, I'm with you all the way..." she said to him, kind of like a promise really, but she also meant it.
Her tummy started rumbling and she exhaled in an uncomfortable manner. She had been eating properly lately, so feeling hungry wasnt something she was used to. She leaned back from him, putting her hand on his chest, just in case he tried to lean in:" Hungry..." she simply said, holding her free hand over her lower part of her face. "You smell too human for me to contain it..." she explained, wanting to give off a slight smile, but knowing it wouldnt matter with her hand covering her mouth and nose.

"But first, we have some business to take care of" He said gently, giving her a weird look, implying he was up to something. He gently pushes her down on the sofa, sliding his hand under her shirt, up her stomach, guiding it slowly up to her chest. Putting the other hand down her pants, placing it on her thigh, moving it down. He leans over her, closing his eyes as he moves closer to her lips, stopping right before he touches them, teasing her. He opens his eyes, looking into hers as a grin formed on his face. "Time for your healing" whispering in a seductive way, before he gives her a quick kiss and leans back up a bit, smiling down at her. His hands were placed on some of the wounded areas, and they were getting warm, the healing had begun. For the healing ability to work, it had to be skin to skin contact. And the "patient" being Lucile, he had no problems with that.

She wasnt sure about what he was up to. So when he pushed her down on the sofa, she looked up at him as she waited for what was coming next. So when he slided his hand under her shirt, she felt a tingle spread in her tummy, a nice tingle that she wasnt too familiar with, but still suddenly craved like never begore. She exhaled deeply, grabbing his arm as his hand went down her pants:" I hope you dont do this with every patient you have..." she teased with a smile. She per instinct spread her legs slightly, giving him the space to touch her thigh. She looked at him with lustful eyes as he moved closer to her, she was more than ready for a kiss right now. So when he didnt, she pouted but not in an angry way.
She wasnt going to let this stop her from having her way anyway. Both of his hands were occupied, so she took the opportunity to start unbuttoning his shirt, however in a slow manner. She looked him in the eyes as she unbuttoned him, slightly biting her lip. "Nicholas... I want more.." she said in a hushed voice, with the undertones of pleading. She felt as if she was going to go crazy, yet it was in such a delightful way that she wouldnt mind.
When she had completely opened his shirt, she pulled it down, revealing his shoulders, not being able to take it off him yet. This was fine however. She pushed herself up, grabbing his shoulders as she kissed him, not holding back on her urges. She moved her head away from his lips before she leaned down to his throat, placing a soft kiss on the skin of his neck. She smiled in a teasing manner as she said:" I'm just gonna assume that you need to concentrate to heal me... So let me put your concentration to the test.." she whispered, returning his seductive tone from before as her own. Then she let go of his shoulder on the opporsite side to where her head wasnt. Gently placing it on his neck, she started kissing around his neck, small soft kisses. Then came the teeth. Small tender bites that wasnt too hard for the skin to break, but enough for him to feel it. She wasnt worried about her hunger right now - What she yearned for the most stopped her from thinking about food.
She then switched between kissing and biting. Her breath was heavy against his neck as she enjoyed every kiss and bite she got to put on him, leaving small bitemarks spread around his neck. She was not planning to stop until he would ask her to.
